Report Writing Trainer

Rehearse the referee's Reports module — what the main report must contain, which annex an incident belongs in, and how to record facts objectively. Independent study tool, not affiliated with the FIP.

1 · The report — what must it contain?

Main tournament report

Warnings form — fields

Match · date · set · game-point · player · infraction · umpire.

The three annexes

Annex 1 — Organisation & equipment (venue): courts, net, lighting, balls, facilities checklist.
Annex 2 — Walkovers / warnings / incidents supplement — the less-serious stuff (code violations, WOs, minor incidents).
Annex 3 — Serious match incident → goes to the FIP Disciplinary Committee.

2 · Which annex? — drill

Read the scenario, choose where it's recorded, then see why.

3 · Objectivity checker

Record facts literally — what was said and done, when, with no opinion. Avoid loaded words:

Below: a subjective sentence and an objective rewrite. Read the subjective one, then reveal a fact-based version.
